Taking Beauty to the streets

Webster defines beauty as: the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest). People may define beauty as something else besides this definition, so we took beauty to the streets to give their definition of beauty.

“Beauty is a combination of qualities of ones prefrence. Or even the way an indivial thinks of themselves. There is no specific definition.”

“Being confident in yourself no matter what you look like.”

“I think beauty is a very personal, internal quality that we all posses. Something that shines from within us and can not be painted on our face. A sort of energy, or state of being that grows stronger as we become more aware that we’ve always had it.”

“Beauty comes from within! Wearing makeup only accentuates your inner beauty. Makeup cannot fix an mean heart.”

“Beauty is a radiance that comes outward from within.”

Asking Beauty Professionals

For those of us who wish to work in the beauty industry, we may have questions about how the current professionals enjoy their careers and how they achieved their goals. We aspire to work alongside amazing people, to work with the products we love, and to have the opportunity to work on some of the most creative projects out there.

This past week, I had the opportunity to interview two women who are currently in the beauty industry. I had a few questions for them regarding how they got to where they are today and what advice they could offer to students or people whose goal is to work in the beauty industry.
